  1. Oregon Garden Lights
 
The Oregon Gardens have one of the best light displays in the Willamette Valley! It’s much closer than the Zoo lights as well as allowing us to support a small local business. More information on their website
 
  1. Ice Skating at Riverfront Park
 
Salem on Ice has opened for the first time this season! Enjoy ice skating with friends and family during this season. Their website has their hours and ticket availability
 
  1. Capital Concerts
 
Our state capital is a always gorgeously decorated for the Holidays. They have a whole list of the local talent that will be performing this season. Until December 22nd, Monday through Friday from 10 am to 2 pm, local choirs and groups will perform in the rotunda. Admission is FREE.
 
  1. Hot Cocoa
 
There isn’t a drink that speaks more to the happiness of Winter then hot cocoa! Be on the lookout for our favorite recipe that we will be sharing on our social media this month!
 
  1. Keizer Lights
 
An old tradition of this area but one that still amazes the young and not so young. The Keizer lights, a group of neighborhoods all coordinate their lights with unique themes. Drive through these neighborhoods while snacking on Holiday cookies! More information in this article
 
  1. Donate food to Marion Polk Food Share
 
During a time of celebration, many of our community members are needing help to provide a special memory for their family. Think about donating food or a gift.
 
  1. Bake cookies
 
Holiday cookies are so much better enjoyed at home, even better if you bake them together!
 
  1. Bush Barn Art Center Holiday Showcase
 
Visit the Salem Art Association’s annual Holiday Showcase to see local artisans projects. Admission is FREE! November 10 – December 24th. Check out the hours on their website.
 
  1. FREE Carousel rides on Christmas Day
 
Looking for something to do after gifts have been opened on Christmas day? The Salem Riverfront Carousel has free rides on Christmas Day from noon – 4 pm! More information on their website

Sometimes the weather can be a downer for outdoor activities. The Elsinore Theatre has a Wednesday Evening Film Series that is fun to attend! Check out the films being offered.
