The Reading Nest was inspired by a love of books—and memories of not always having access to them growing up. Today, the organization travels throughout Polk County and surrounding communities, providing free books to readers of all ages by creating welcoming spaces where stories and learning can flourish. In 2025, a $25,000 grant from the Maps Community Foundation helped fund the purchase of a bookmobile that expands their reach into rural communities. Once complete, the mobile library will deliver books, literacy resources, and connections directly to neighborhoods that need them most. We are proud to support The Reading Nest’s mission to ensure that the joy and opportunity found in reading are accessible to everyone.
