Kim Hanson joined Maps as Executive Director of the Maps Community Foundation in January 2020. Kim has lived in Salem since 2004, working with many nonprofit and philanthropic organizations, including Marion-Polk Food Share, United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley, Mountain West Investment Corporation, and the Salem-Keizer Career Technical Education Center. Kim is passionate about improving the quality of life for those living in the Mid-Valley communities served by Maps. She looks forward to directing our current initiatives while growing the foundation’s community impact and engagement.

Judy Beebe

Foundation Board President

Judy Beebe, an Independence resident since 2005 and Maps member since 2000, has an extensive financial management background, including Vice President of Finance at Kaiser Permanente Federal Credit Union, Pasadena, Calif. and Chief Financial Officer at ORCO State Employ­ees Federal Credit Union, Orange, CA. 

Judy currently works as the Account­ing Manager at Northcore USA, after retiring from Western Oregon University. Additionally, Judy owns her own consult­ing firm providing expertise to charter schools and construction companies. 

Judy’s accomplishments include positive turnaround of finance and administrative support for organizations. Her successful asset liability management includes fore­ casting financial impact of products and pricing, profitability analysis, strategic planning and investment management.

Mark Zook

Mark Zook has been with Maps Credit Union since 1992 and is currently its president and CEO. In addition, Zook serves as CEO of Maps Service Agency and sits on the board of managers of both the Willamette Business Group and Ongoing Operations, two of Maps Credit Union's partially owned subsidiary companies.

An active participant in the credit union movement, Zook has served on the board of directors of the Credit Union Association of Oregon (CUAO). He has been particularly active in the legislative arena, serving on the CUAO Candidate Taskforce, Bill Review Taskforce, State Legislative Review Subcommittee and Government Affairs Committee.

Zook has a diverse educational background, with an MBA from Southern Oregon University, a master's in educational leadership from the University of Oregon, and a bachelor's in business administration from Western Oregon University. He also completed the BAI/Emory University Graduate School of Executive Bank Management in Atlanta, Georgia.

Previously, Zook was an instructor of political science at the Mount Angel Seminary and an instructor for the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce's Education Leadership Institute through Portland State University. Over the years, he has been an active volunteer in the Salem community, completing the Leadership Salem program and working in a variety of capacities with organizations like the Salem/Keizer School District, the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce, Western Oregon University, the Salem-Keizer Education Foundation, the Willamette Education Service District, and other civic organizations.

Chris Giles joined the Maps organization in 2004 as a consultant, before being hired full time in 2005.  Initially serving as General Manager in the Maps subsidiary company CU Wireless (CUW), Giles was named CEO of CUW in 2015.  In 2017, he was chosen to head up the newly created Strategic Payments function at Maps.  In addition to Payments, Giles also works closely with Maps’ technology groups to lead a cross-functional team tasked with creating best-in-class digital tools for our membership.  

Chris speaks at credit union industry events across the U.S. including annual meetings of the California, Nevada, Oregon, and Connecticut Credit Union Leagues, National Association of Credit Union Service Organizations (NACUSO), the Marketing Association of Credit Unions (MAC), and AXFI.  He has spoken on a variety of topics including: emerging payments trends, data analytics, product innovation and Customer Experience Management.

Sue Bloom

Sue Bloom is the CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Salem, Marion & Polk Counties. She is responsible for the overall success of the organization to positively impact the 15,000 youth served through 7 Clubs, a Health & Dental Service Center, teen workforce development program, athletics and community outreach. 

Sue has been with the Boys & Girls Club for 10 years; serving as Chief Operations Officer and Chief Development Officer before moving to her current role as CEO in late 2014. Prior to the Club Sue was a fire operations supervisor for State Farm regional office in both northern California and Salem. When State Farm moved the regional office to Washington Sue jumped into the non-profit world; beginning with serving for nearly 10 years in various capacities at United Way, wrapping up as Executive Director. 

Sue currently serves as President of the Oregon Alliance for Oregon Boys & Girls Clubs, the advocacy arm of the Club’s work. She also has leadership roles in Marion County’s Children & Family Commission, Community-Business and Education Leaders Collaborative, serves as a trustee for Maps Credit Union Community Foundation, as well as has serves as a trustee for a family trust for the past 30 years. 

Sue and her husband Gene have been married for 38 years. They have two grown children; Beth is a Sprague and U of O graduation, she and her husband live in Bend.  Son Doug is a South and Willamette University graduate.

Jenn Columbus

Jenn is a native Oregonian and Salemite and has worked in a variety of community-oriented and philanthropic settings, currently serving as the Philanthropic Advisor and Regional Director of the Northern Willamette Valley for the Oregon Community Foundation.

Jenn received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oregon in 2006, majoring in Family and Human Services, with a minor in Special Education.

In 2006, Columbus began a seven-year relationship with Family Building Blocks, a nonprofit organization serving Marion and Polk Counties. She coordinated grants and volunteers, plus supervised visitation and case management of families and children enrolled in family dependency treatment court. 

In 2013, Columbus became the northwest area manager for Start Making a Reader Today (SMART), Oregon’s largest volunteer-driven nonprofit organization devoted to children’s literacy. Since 2017, she has worked as philanthropic advisor and regional director of the Oregon Community Foundation, the state’s largest charitable foundation.

Tom Marks

Tom Marks and his wife Lynne became members of Maps Credit Union in 2002; that same year he was appointed to serve on the board of Maps Service Agency.

Marks is a broker with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Real Estate Professionals. Previously, he was a business advisor at Chemeketa Community College's Small Business Development Center. Marks is also the founder and former owner of Allied Video Productions, a Salem-based video production company. Marks is a well-known Salem area public servant. Over the past 30+ years he has given time and money in support of many organizations in the Mid-Willamette Valley.  In addition to volunteer positions at Maps, he currently serves as the vice-chair of Board of Directors at Marion County Fire District #1.

Kathy Moore

Foundation Member

Kathy Moore is the Chief Development Officer for the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce and is the CEO for the Chambers charitable arm, the Inspire Foundation. Kathy is dedicated to the success of the community. She works closely with the President of the Inspire Foundation and the Chamber CEO to assist with managing and advancing annual fundraising and workforce development efforts. 

Kathy also serves on the Maps Credit Union board, Maps Governance Committee, and Maps Insurance Services Committee.   

Some of Kathy’s community & statewide involvement has included Salem Keizer School District Counseling & Advisory Committee, Salem Keizer Education Foundation’s Development Committee, Former First Lady Michelle Obama’s Reach Higher Initiative representing Oregon, Crystal Apple Committee, WACE (Western Association of Chamber Executives), WACE Academy, Business mentor for Corban University’s CCP program(last 4 years), Mentor to multiple local Middle & High school students annually,  Girl Scouts, Career Technical Education, Family Building Blocks classroom volunteer, AVID and more. 

Kathy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, gardening, photography, and camping. She and her husband Gary have a blended family of 8, and have been blessed with 11 amazing grandchildren.
