Church at the Park is a Salem-based nonprofit that seeks to empower those experiencing homelessness with low-barrier shelter, transitional housing, and outreach services. The organization has spent nearly two decades creating pathways from crisis to stability for our neighbors in Marion and Polk Counties.
That’s why, in March of 2026, we were proud to present a $25,000 grant to Church at the Park in support of their upcoming Workforce Development Kitchen, a 6,465 sq. ft. commercial kitchen at the Seymour Center adjacent to the CCS Family Shelter.
The kitchen will be more than just a place to prepare food. It will also create paid culinary training opportunities for young adults experiencing homelessness, while helping provide hundreds of daily meals for shelter guests. Through partnerships with organizations like Chemeketa Community College, participants will gain job skills, mentorship, and credentials, opening doors to both long-term employment and stability.
We’re honored to support a project that strengthens both food security and economic opportunity in our community.
