Marion Polk Food Share is a Salem-based nonprofit working to bring people together to end hunger and address its root causes. Serving as the central food distribution hub for Marion and Polk counties, Marion Polk Food Share works with a regional network of food pantries, meal sites, and community partners to help connect local families, seniors, children, and individuals with the food they need.
In September of 2026, the Maps Community Foundation was proud to present a $50,000 grant to Marion Polk Food Share in support of its facility expansion project. The nonprofit recently purchased a larger facility and is working to adapt the building into a regional food hub and distribution center.
When complete, the expansion will double the Food Share’s warehouse space, increase capacity for fresh and perishable food, and support Meals on Wheels production for up to 3,000 meals per day. The larger space will also help strengthen the region’s ability to respond during emergencies and periods of increased need.
Marion Polk Food Share has been helping neighbors access food and resources for decades. So, the Maps Community Foundation is proud to support an expansion that will help the organization serve more people and store more fresh, perishable food for the community.
